A Day in the Life of our Operations Specialist
At IrisGuard, innovation isn’t just about our cutting-edge iris recognition technology - it’s about our team of people who bring it to life every day.
We’re taking you behind the scenes with Mohammed Al Khamaiseh, Technical Manager and a key member of our Operations Team, to learn more about his role, challenges, and what keeps him motivated.
For Mohammed, no two days are ever the same. In his role as Technical Support Manager based at our Jordan office, Mohammed has installed more than 850 of our iris cameras in his 12 years at IrisGuard.
His work sits at the intersection of technology and service, making sure that our system is always running at peak performance for our varied range of customers including banks, humanitarian aid organizations, post office, money exchangers, social care providers and government agencies.
"One of the most rewarding parts of my job is knowing that the work we do directly impacts so many people’s lives. We help refugees and citizens across several countries to register for and access financial assistance, we enable Jordanians who live abroad to utilise their government services, and the stakes are high because for many of them it’s a lifeline.”
Diagnosing system performance, troubleshooting potential issues, and optimizing biometric data flows
Mohammed’s days typically begin with a system health diagnostic, monitoring all our live deployments to ensure optimum system performance, to ensure everything functions smoothly.
From there, his day is a mix of optimizing biometric data flows, maintenance visits, technical support, as well as new installations at clients’ sites alongside the wider team of our engineers.
“Our technology is only as good as the support behind it. We take a proactive approach, making sure everything is running seamlessly so that the users of our system - whether it’s a bank teller, a humanitarian worker, or a government official - can focus on their work without worrying about the tech.”
Partnerships and support in real-time
With biometric technology being deployed in high-stakes environments, challenges are inevitable. Mohammed recalls a moment when a partner in a remote location encountered an issue with authentication speeds. His team quickly diagnosed the problem, worked with developers to push an update, and restored optimal functionality within hours.
"There’s a huge sense of satisfaction in solving these challenges. When a solution is in place and working better than before, that’s when we know we’re making a difference.”
The impact of our work where it matters
Is an accurate verification, a secure transaction and that’s brought together by a dedicated team of people who ensure it all works flawlessly and who make IrisGuard what we are today.
From installing our hardware and software in often very challenging environments to supporting our customers with maintenance or repair visits, our Operations Team plays a crucial part as thousands of refugees, pensioners and other vulnerable people rely on critical financial assistance they withdraw through our system.
